Probate is the legal process of administering the property of a deceased individual. This is usually carried out through a valid will. Probate court decides the validity of said will. As with most legal proceedings, there are technical aspects to the decision including if there are creditors, time factors, estate taxes, lawsuits or other claims against the estate in the administration of the will being carried out.
